Witham Running Club - Reviews of Sportsshoes.com running kit

Witham Running Club

Witham Running Club

Witham Running Club has about 180 members and is based at Bramston Sports Centre Witham. It was formed in 1983 to support those who wish to train, race and run for fun on and off road. Club Colours are Black and Old Gold.

We are a happy Club, which has grown its membership substantially in the past few years, with a mix of good training programmes, a great social environment, but most of all we all give respect, support, encouragement and equality to our fellow athletes regardless of how quickly or slowly they choose to run. We recognise that not everyone can attend all of our training nights, due to family, work or other commitments, but everyone is welcome!

Star Rating (Out of 5): 3

Best Points:

. Colour of black.

. Mesh on the lower back of the leggings- good for ventilation.

. Leggings wash well.

Worst Points:

. Larger zip pocket on the back to hold a mobile phone/ipod/keys

. Leggings rolled up to behind knee as I was running- this felt uncomfortable on the back of my knees.

. Sweat dripped down my legs as I ran and collected behind the knees where the leggings had rolled up- this felt uncomfortable.

. Each leg is seperated into four quarters-Front lower quarter to be same material as either the mesh or the body of the leggings.

. Gusset to be larger.

. More reflective stripes are needed to be seen, on the front and back of the leggings.

. Upper back of leggings have a seam under the pocket- try mesh across the back body of the leggings down from that seam- ventilation for when people have mobile phones in their back pocket. Down from seam for one/2 inches only would be ideal.

Review – Running Clothing reviewed by Fairlands Valley Spartans Running Club

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Fairlands Valley Spartans Running Club

Fairlands Valley Spartans is primarily a road running club based in Stevenage, but our itinerary also includes track and off-road activities. We have around 200 members.  Originally formed in 1984, the club will next year be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Friendliness is very much a theme for the Spartans who try to support a wide range of members with a variety of abilities. We cater for everyone, from those wishing to just run with others for company to those training to compete in various races over a range of distances.

Nike 3/4 leggings

Nike Lady Dri-Fit Capri Tights

PRICE: £19.99

Star Rating (Out of 5): 4

Best Points: Stretch material is comfortable and didn’t seem to stretch too much between washes. They fall just on the crease of the knee for comfort and are very soft.

Worst Points: The waist tie is inconvenient as has to be a knot and rubs, would be better on outside. They are baggy around the crotch area and therefore have to be puller quite high!

Other Comments: They look good, but i feel will pull (possibly on velcro) easily when wearing jackets or arm lights. They also seem the material that may become thin very easily.

Best Points: They stay up and around the waist.

Worst Points: Became very loose around the knee post run.

Other Comments:

Good overall, kept the sweat off of my legs.

Star Rating (Out of 5): 4.5

Best Points: Comfortable, wick sweat away well, zipped heels

Worst Points: Scratchy/itchy labels

Other Comments: A really nice pair of tights, very comfortable once on and a good weight so as to keep the chill off without being too warm.  Have washed well and the zipped heels make them nice and easy to get off when you are tired.  The only slight negative is that I found the labels were a little scratchy/itchy.  Would definitely recommend.
