Profile: Adam Sutcliffe - Cricketer
Name: Adam Sutcliffe
Date of Birth: 25/02/1987
Occupation: Telesales and also trainee web administrator at sportsshoes.com.
Sports I do: My main sports cricket but i will have a dabble at most things, im a big football fan. I tend to play alot more football in th winter when i dont play cricket. when i do play cricket i play for windhill.c.c in the bradford league. Im a quick bowler in the 1st team, but have had tendinitis in my shoulder so i’ve been playing 2nd team as a hard hitting batter!! im currently leading run scorer so its not working out too bad!!
Sports kit I use: I use a few different makes for my cricket gear, Im a big fan of puma pads and gloves they’re very comfy. I have asics cricket boots for batting in and a pair of adidas bowling boots which are amzingly comfortable and have lots of support for my ankles.
For training i use asics kayano 13’s as they are very comfortable and also give me some support as i over-pronate slightly and have had problems with shin splints before.
A bit about me: Well ive been playing sports ever since i can remember and have been playing cricket seriously for about 12 years,. i work for sportsshoes, i started work doing telesales and customer service and have now started working up in the web department, training as a web administrator. Im a massive film fan and also music, i cant do without music despite being inept with any instruments! i like a good night out but not before a game!!
Some of my best sporting achievements so far: I’ve been lucky with my cricket as i have got to travel all over with my school 1st team at bradford grammar school. I have played in denmark, holland, sunny wales and also a 2 week tour to barbados and trinidad & tobago which was awesome. We played against the danish u19 team and beat them convincingly, i ripped through their top order with some sharp quick bowling which was one of my best moments so far i think!
When i was younger i was on the yorkshire center of excellence for 2 years which really helped my bowling and my fitness aswell. it gave me a chance to work with some amazing coaches and sort alot of problems out. i’ve played for a few league and local representative teams in bradford in my time aswell!
My sporting objectives for this year: Well first things first i need to get back to bowling at full tilt after my shoulder injury!ive been bowling ok but i need to get plenty more overs under my belt and sort my consitency out before im back in the 1st team. i want to try and get to 30 wickets this season, ive been getting around the 25 mark in the past few years so i want to up it a bit! as for my batting its been coming along nicely this year so far, ive scored 225 runs in 7 games so im setting myself a target of 500+ for the season.
I want to work on my fitness alot more aswell as i have let it slip recently, so its back out running again for me, aswell as some hours in the nest each week and hopefully it should be a very good season. and win or lose crickets always a good laugh!
