lottie and donna celebrate the finish linesportsshoes.com athletic team

The customer service team here at sportsshoes.com entered into the cancer research ’race for life’ 5K race which was held last sunday at Manningham Park, Bradford and we’re delighted to say they all completed the race in impressively fast times.

Having seen the teams impressive commitment to training – we’re not surprised.

We’re delighted to say that the whole team of – Louise, Melody, Sarah, Lottie, Stacy, Donna and Holly completed the course easily and were back at work safe and sound on Monday

On a serious note congratulations to the whole team who not only braved the horrific weather conditions and raised everyones spirits on a rain soaked sunday morning but also raised over £1,000 for cancer research – a charity close to everyones hearts.

Heroes one and all.

Well done …….. the marathon next year perhaps?

Night off!

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Morning everyone.

Had a night off training last night but played an hour of tennis instead. Really enjoyed it, much more fun then getting bored on the treadmill. I played with my missus and a couple of friends last night, I wanted to play on after an hour but i was under strict instructions that we had to get back for the apprentice!

After the Apprentice i watched Blade Trinity. Now i don’t know if any of you have seen this film but it has a guy in called Ryan Reynolds. Now, if there is someone i could like like when i stepped onto the beach on holiday then this person is him! SHREDDED!

I read somewhere he had 2 put on like almost 2 stone of muscle for this role.

I thought i would include a picture of him from the film for you guys who don’t know who i mean…

Shredded, me in 9 weeks

Who gave him all the good genes?!

Arnie Presses

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Hi everyone,

Someone in my office who has seen my blog has asked what arnold presses are so thought i would share them with everyone. These are called Arnold presses because they were invented by the main man himself Mr Swarzenegger! I use these as they workmore of your Deltoids then just straight shoulder presses.

Below is a link i found on Youtube of someone demonstrating the exercise:

It’s a great exercise i reckon…

and just for a laugh here is the master working out!

haha… brilliant!!! just for the record.. i don’t want to be that big at all…

I couldn’t even if i wanted to!

you just have to appreciate the legend that he is.

gym legs!

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

after a 4 day break I went back into the gym on Friday and since then my legs havent recovered! Im working on doing deep rear squats at the moment, which will give me greater mobility in the hips when pedalling and allow me to get more power through each pedal stroke but as they work more muscles than normal squats they’re pretty hard and instead of squatting 70-75kg I’m only doing 40kg! I thought that after riding to the gym and back my legs would have loosened up but even after a couple of 3 hour rides over the weekend they’re still feeling the effects! Today is just an easy 2 hour ride, then, after my last exam tomorrow I can celebrate with…a 2 hour turbo session…and more gym! Over the week I can enjoy being a ‘full time athlete’ until its back to school to start A2. This week will be a mix of long rides, a time trial, rollers, turbo and ‘on-off’ efforts
